Kids Have Smarts in Language Arts With Mr. Bartz!
Welcome to my website for 6th grade Language Arts at Elkins Pointe Middle School. I look forward to a great year of worldly reading, creative writing, powerful speaking, and careful listening. It is hard to believe that we are only a fourth of the way through the school year, and we already have demonstrated our skills in these four crucial areas.
Reading: we enjoyed a mystery classic with Sherlock Holmes in The Adventure of the Speckled Band.
Writing: we created children's stories, autumn poems, and narrative essays on our heroes and role models.
Speaking: we shared our beautiful autumn poems (the many parents who came to our school that day received a special treat) and just finished oral presentations of our essays. It was heartwarming to hear the kids share their feelings about those individuals who have made the biggest impact on their lives (mostly all you moms and dads out there!).
Listening: we ALWAYS are practicing this skill!
